Inside Todd Payten’s ‘Brutal’ Saturday Sessions
THE RUSH HOUR QUEENSLANDER
He was there as an assistant coach when the Cowboys won their first NRL premiership in 2015 and upon his return to Townsville coach Todd Payten has taken things up a level in his quest to return to club as a powerhouse of the competition.
Speaking on The Rush Hour Queenslander this evening Payten, who left the Warriors at the end of last season, told Dobbo about the brutal Saturday trials he has been holding, splitting the playing group down the middle throughout the week and putting them up against each other in gradually longer sessions.
“Having the teams on a more even keel has seen players improve across the whole the whole squad at a better rate”
How the Cowboys will line-up in 2021 is still unclear, especially when it comes to their back three. However, Payten has made known what it will take to claim the coveted number one jersey.
