The New South Wales Government announced on Tuesday that the construction of Sydney’s third city centre, Bradfield, would be underway by the end of 2021.

Over the next four years, the State Government will commit $1.15 billion towards funding the preparation of the 114-hectare locale for investment from manufacturing and engineering firms.

A large portion of the funding will go towards laying the roads, sewage, water and electricity connections for Bradfield.

When completed, the centre will be roughly 60% of the size of Sydney’s CBD and will be in a prime position for access to the Western Sydney International Airport.

Minister for Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres, said that Bradfield would boast $23 million worth of equipment for research institutions and aim at bringing some of the best R&D-orientated jobs in the world to Sydney’s West.

We want to say to anyone around the world, if you want to work in a technology [role], an engineering [role], an advanced manufacturing role; you need to be considering Bradfield as your place to live, work and raise your family
