Let me tell you a story.
In 1972 I was in second year high school and already knew I wanted to be in radio, it was not a phase, I knew this is what I was going to do.
This caused much mirth with students and some teachers,so glad I was able to give you a giggle or 2.
One of the teachers who told me to "get a proper job" was our English "teacher" whom I grew to despise for reasons too numerous to mention.
Not once can I recall being instilled with a love of language nor a desire to attempt to show us how glorious words can be.
"Just read it or you'll fail."
A person of arrogance and no humour there was most certainly no Captain My Captain, classes were dreaded.
One day, in an unfortunately feeble attempt to lighten the day one of our buddies asked for an assessment of the latest Alice Cooper album.
"if you mean a young lady named Alice I'm sure she's quite nice, however if you're referring to that other degenerate of the same name I can't stand him"
"Thanks teach, sorry we ruined your day."
Jump forward to December 2017 and my son is now a successful muso working in America and this past weekend he was part of a festival in Phoenix which featured......Alice Cooper!
I asked him to say hi for me and I got this video back.
And, I'm writing this prior to talking with half the state on my show.
