"It's Irrelevant Now": Nick Riewoldt Reacts To The Simon Goodwin Herald Sun Report

Triple M's Nick Riewoldt says the Herald Sun report surrounding Simon Goodwin is no longer a story, following the club's statement on Tuesday.

The Herald Sun reported on Tuesday morning the Demons considering standing Goodwin down ahead of the 2021 season, which resulted in them winning the premiership, with suggestions he had behavioural issues.

Riewoldt said the Demons' internal review, detailed in a club statement on Tuesday, means there's no more story to be had unless new information comes to light.

"It's pretty much irrelevant, because in five weeks' time the Demons are going to unfurl their premiership flag in round one for the first time in however long," he said on Triple M's Rush Hour.

"Whether he was doing the right or the wrong thing, it's irrelevant now...Melbourne undertook a review, and a statement came out today from club president Kate Roffey, which is really, really strong.

"The club conducted a review, they provided the feedback, the feedback was acted upon, and guess what? They won a flag."
