IT Smashes OZ Box Office Record For Horror Films
Clowns getting bums on seats
The remake of IT - the Stephen King story that has created a serious phobia of clowns - has smashed box office records in Oz for an opening weekend in the horror genre.
IT took a mammoth $7.47 million at the Australian box office, more than doubling the opening weekend of the THE CONJURING 2 on $3.52 million.
It also did better than both Wonder Woman and Dunkirk, according to Warner Bros.
In case you have no idea about what IT is about, try this on:
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Scary stuff... if you're into that sort of thing.
