Not content with becoming the face of Tourism Australia, Nick "Honey Badger" Cummins is tipped to take on the title of The Bachelor, according to reports.

Sources told The Daily Telegraph that the former Wallabies player - who is currently taking a break from sport - has allegedly been cast as the next Bachie.

It sounds like Channel Ten are keen to emulate the massive success they had with Sophie Monk as The Bachelorette; while originally viewed as a risk, Monk's series saw the highest audience of any previous season thanks in no large part to her "loveable bogan" persona.

Even though Cummins is known for his one-liners and larrikin personality, it's still a shock casting - although we can imagine it being a cracker.

This IS the bloke who named himself "The Honey Badger" after watching a National Geographic documentary of the animal taking on a lion and winning.

"I thought, 'What an animal, that's impressive'," the 30-year-old said at the time.

Filming for the 2018 series begins on Wednesday so, if you're really invested, you should keep an eye on Cummins' Instagram.

If the prolific poster goes quiet, you'll know he's getting to grips with some roses.
