Richmond cult figure Jack Higgins has changed jumper numbers for 2019.

Higgins will move from 28 to 13 in homage to one of his mate’s dad, who wore 13 when he played and acted as a mentor to the excitable 19-year-old.

Higgins will be the first Tiger to wear 13 for the club since Ricky Petterd in 2015.

The number was assigned to Chris Yarran in 2016, but he retired without playing a game.

The jumper was left vacant in 2017 and 2018.

Meanwhile, first round pick Riley Collier-Dawkins will get Anthony Miles’ 26, Jack Ross will wear Sam Lloyd’s 27, Fraser Turner has been allocated Higgins’ 28 and Corey Ellis’s old 32 guernsey will go to Luke English.

Mav Weller will wear Shaun Hampson’s 16 and Tom Lynch has already been given 19.
