Jack Ziebell has dispelled media reports about fractures within North Melbourne's four walls, saying the mood at the club is "not what it seems in the public eye".

Ziebell joined JB and Billy on Triple M's Rush Hour ahead of his 250th game against St Kilda, and following a group of departures in North Melbourne's recruiting department and reports of players such as Cameron Zurhaar and Jason Horne-Francis delaying contract talks.

But Ziebell said the group was united and committed to improve over the next few weeks.

"Inside the tent, things are going not too bad," he explained.

"Obviously, we'd like to be in a better position than one and nine currently in the win-loss record, make no mistakes about that. but I can only judge what I see, and that's every day at our footy club it's not what it seems in the public eye.

"We as a coaching group and a playing group are actually really united...we've done a lot of talking, and I'd like to think our actions over the next few weeks...we need to turn that around on the field, and that's the only (thing) that counts."
