Jake Owen is Heading to the Big Screen

Jake Owen is taking on a new challenge after landing his first acting role on the big screen.

The country singer has scored himself a role in the move “The Best Friend” with shooting on track to start next month.

A synopsis of the movie reads like this: “After learning that his terminally ill wife has six months to live, a man welcomes the support of his best friend, who moves into their home to help out. His impact on the whole family is much greater than anyone could have imagined.”

The film also stars Dakota Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Grey”), Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”), and Jason Segal (“How I Met Your Mother.”)  

Jake also revealed he will be releasing a new album sometime this March.

Add all this to the fact that he is about to become a Dad again this year – it’s a busy time ahead for Jake.
