James Hird, who was welcomed to Triple M Footy on Wednesday, says the "door is pretty much closed" on coaching at AFL level at the moment.
HIRD SPEAKS ON COACHING:
Having previously coached Essendon, the team on Triple M's Hot Breakfast asked Hird, who will join the Triple M commentary team this Saturday for Essendon/St Kilda, whether he'd consider returning to the AFL landscape.
He said he was happy where he was in his life.
"To me that door is pretty much closed, and I think to my family that's pretty much closed," he told Triple M.
"It's the sort of thing where I really enjoy what I do at the moment work-wise, and it gives me a chance to actually get back and spend time with my family as well.
"I'm looking forward to going and commentating on a game, special comments on a game of football, and that's where my head's at at the moment."
