This Friday, renowned author and speaker Jane Milburn will be visiting Bundaberg for International Women's Day this weekend as she headlines the Zonta Club of Bundaberg's IWD Breakfast at Rowers on the River following a host of workshops over the weekend.

"How we dress and adorn our body flies a flag for what we believe in." (Jane Milburn via Instagram)

Jane Milburn is also the founder of Textile Beat, a social-enterprise business created "to inspire a creative approach to the way we dress, to embrace natural fibres and upcycle existing natural-fibre garmets for pleasure, reward and sustainability".

"The world can't produce more natural fibres because that would increase pressure on an already stretched environment. That is why I practice slow fashion and reuse natural fibres whenever possible. The fashion industry is accelerating new reconstituted cellulosic fibres... That is positive but we can't do business as usual, with continually increasing consumption. As wearers, we can take responsibility for reducing our own material footprint."

The theme for the breakfast event will be #BalanceforBetter, kicking off at 7:30am with a delicious breaky, raffle prizes, and more.
