Jay Clark has said today that Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield should avoid suspension for his hit on Matt de Boer yesterday.
De Boer got under the skin of a star midfielder for the second week running after pushing Dustin Martin to lash out on Adam Kennedy last week.
Speaking on the Rub this afternoon, Jay Clark said that Dangerfield will likely get away with a fine.
“I think he may get a fine at worst, I don’t think he’ll get suspended.
“We’d be pretty disappointed fellas if Patrick Dangerfield got rubbed out for that.”
Speaking after yesterday’s loss, Geelong coach Chris Scott was also of the belief that the Brownlow favourite will be cleared to play for their Easter Monday clash with Hawthorn.
“There was an umpire there and it wasn’t even a free kick.
“Let’s just deal with the facts, it wasn’t even a free kick”
