Jim Jefferies and Mick Molloy have shared some of their favourite memories of Norm Macdonald, after the comedian's sad passing.

Macdonald died at the age of 61 on Wednesday after privately battling cancer, nine years after his diagnosis.

Tributes have poured in for Macdonald, including from Jim and Mick on the Wednesday edition of Molloy, with Macdonald leaving a lasting impact on the two of them.

"He was always very nice, very complimentary," Jim recalled.

"He'll be dearly missed by not just the comedy community, but people all over the world...he kept (the cancer) hidden, and it's sort of commendable, because he just wanted to be about the jokes and not about the illness."

Mick in particular was a huge fan of his work with Saturday Night Live.

"He was the best news desk in the history of Saturday Night Live," Mick said.

"He could just make you laugh. It didn't matter whether the joke worked or didn't. Sometimes when it didn't he would just duke it out. He'd just stand his ground and wait!"
