John Cleese, Yes THE John Cleese, Is Rallying Australia To Vote 'Manuel' Into 'The All-Star Mile'
Voting closes Sunday night.
Legendary comedian John Cleese is rallying Australia to vote a horse into contention for the first All-Star Mile horse race.
The All-Star Mile is a ten-horse race at Flemington, with the public voting in the participating horses - a world first.
And the genius behind Monty Python and Fawlty Towers; John Cleese took to Twitter to ask the Australian public to vote for the Tony McEvoy trained 'Manuel' - a horse named after Cleese's late longtime friend and Fawlty Towers co-star Andrew Sachs.
Manuel took out theĀ Group One Ladbrokes CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday paying $21.
Voting for the All-Star Mile's participants ends on Sunday night.
Manuel's owner Gary Lekte will be chatting to Triple M Melbourne's The Hot Breakfast tomorrow morning.
