Jonathan Sri: "I’m definitely not intending to disrespect the Anzacs in any way"

Greens councillor Jonathan Sri called the show on Tuesday to explain his support for the Extinction Rebellion activists who have caused such outrage in recent weeks. 

"I do support them, I have to be honest about that. I’m not organizing the protests myself, I’m not the ringleader or anything but I think they have a right to protest and their cause is legitimate", Sri told The Big Breakfast crew.

He also explained his controversial comparison of their road-blocking activities with Anzac Day parades. 

"I’m really sorry if people drew that message. I’m definitely not intending to disrespect the Anzacs in any way. If people read the original Facebook post, they’ll understand the context a little bit better."
