Joy McKean: Wife Of Slim Dusty On His Legacy & Documentary 'Slim and I'

'Is there anything more Australian than Slim Dusty?'

The Grand Lady of Australian music, Joy McKean, and Slim's daughter and Australian Musician Anne Kirkpatrick joined Roo and Ditts this morning to discuss Slim's legacy ahead of the release of the documentary 'Slim and I' on December 9th. 

Joy discussed what it was like travelling and attending gigs with Slim from 1954 all the way through to 2002. 

"We were young and we loved what we were doing. It was not easy but it was worth it - we were having fun."

Joy shared stories about her time on the road with Slim in there 1939 Humpback Ford 'Ol Betsy, and what Slim was like to be around off stage.

"He never went a day without strapping a guitar on and singing."
