While we're still waiting for Cooper Cronk to make a decision on his future for next year, QLD coach Kevin Walters is hopeful that Cronk will be running out for the Maroons next year.
Speaking on Triple M Saturday NRL ahead of Origin III on Wednesday night, Walters said that Cronk looked to be in great form.
"Cronk has been very coy about his future," Walters said. Listen to the full interview below.
"We don't even know if he's playing on next year.
"There may be some announcement after the game, but at this stage we believe Cooper is going to be playing on next year and hopefully around the Origin level as well.
"He such a great player for us - particularly with no Thurston there - a lot of the responsibility of organising the team will fall on his shoulders. And I couldn't think of any better person in the game for that responsibility."
