Broncos coach Kevin Walters has given his first interview since the Cowboys launched a raid on young half Tom Deaden, signing the twenty-year-old who was touted as the next Alan Langer on a three-year deal beginning in 2022.

Speaking on The Rush Hour Queenslander Walters told Dobbo and Gorden Tallis that he was disappoint to lose Dearden who had been with the club since he was thirteen but it was an offer the club couldn’t match and now he’ll search for a more senior replacement.

“Has he hit his straps this year? No. We’ve had several conversations around that…we’re sorry to lose him but I just feel that, at the moment, we need a senior playmaker in the place to help us get that direction”
