We’ve never made a secret of how much we love Kenny “KG” Cunningham here at Triple M.

So when the chance to have a chat to him came up after the media centre in the Riverbank Stand at Adelaide Oval, we took it with both hands.

LISTEN HERE:

KG spoke about how touched he is to be honoured at the Adelaide Oval.

"It’s one that I’ve treasured with all my heart," KG said of his relationship to the famous old ground.

"I can recall walking into the Oval as a 12 year old with my late father, wanting to play cricket with the Adelaide Cricket Club.

"In those days, the Adelaide Oval and the number 2 oval was the home of the Adelaide Cricket Club, and I joined as a 12 year old.

"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe that 71 years later — because I’m 83 — 71 years later, I’d be having my name and my family name etched on the beautiful Adelaide Oval.

"It just hasn’t sunk in to be quite frank."
