With an election in the wings, Labor Candidate for Coffs Harbour, Tony Judge has announced that his party will commit $10 million to the Coffs Harbour Boat Ramp upgrades.

The announcement came on the same day after Deputy Premier John Barilaro, joined Andrew Fraser and Nationals Candidate Gurmesh Singh to confirm the funding for the upgrade works and a fix to the boat ramp that is known for its safety concerns.

Mr Judge told Triple M, "I had David Harris, the Regional Development Shadow minister here where we made the big announcement, but it seemed to get lost in the fight between the Council and the Nationals".

The Labor candidate said he had been working behind the scenes since January, while commending the Boat Ramp Committee's hard work, agrees with comments made about the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers taking credit for the Boat Ramp.

"I have the same problem with the Shooters and Fishers, coming in at the last minute, planting their flag on this. Those guys have been working for years on this".

Similar to the Bypass project, Mr Judge said that for the likes of Rob Oakeshott to claim credit is insulting to those who have done the hard work.
