A report in The Daily Telegraph has prompted Mark "MG" Geyer to question why the powers-that-be at Parramatta are letting the public - and their players - into the inner workings of contract negotiations.

According to journalist Brent Read, a friend of The Rush Hour with MG, Eels coach Brad Arthur is off-contract at the end of the year and has been given until June to demonstrate sufficient on-field performance.

But MG has slammed the discussion, explaining why letting information like this out into the open does more bad than good.

Listen below:

"Why should we know?" MG asked. "Why should the public know?

"Good on you Ready for prying it out of Bernie but from this day going forward, I think they've gotta keep what they say to each between the two of them and Brad Arthur."

MG also revealed what he thinks Arthur needs to do to hold onto his position as head coach; hear the full chat below.
