This is one way to fight them.

We've battled the mighty toad for a long time, and now it could become a meal on our plate.

Or what about snake jerky, feral camel toes, myna bird parfait all washed down with a boar's eye blood mary?!

Before you completely freak out, this may not be as crazy as it seems.

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is known for it's out there ideas and this is one that seems to be ruffling a few feathers.. well toads.

Recipe book Eat the Problem has just been released by the Hobart based museum by artist and curator Kirsha Kaechele who moved to Tasmania to be with her husband David Walsh, the museum owner.

The idea came about for Kirsha to look at ways of doing something with problematic species who've wreaked havoc in different parts of the world.

There's over 544 decadent pages, with artwork, poetry, essays and interviews by James Turrell, Marina Abramović, Andoni Luis Aduriz of Mugaritz, Germaine Greer, Heston Blumenthal, Mike Parr, Pablo Picasso, Enrique Olvera of Pujol, Laurie Anderson and Tim Minchin.

Kirsha wanted to open the conversation up about sustainability and our future also raising the question around why we eat farm-fed processed foods over pests that are edible and in excess of.

Such a big idea brings plenty of controversy too, but Kirsha says she's happy to see the topics being debated.

"I welcome it. I think it's great to see so many people being so passionate about these problems."

While some scientists don't believe it should be done, Kirsha says months of research behind the book does discount some of those theories as to why we shouldn't be eating these pests.

"You have to catch the toad, kill him, then bathe him in a nice salt water bath, so the poison doesn't seep out- that's the way to catch a toad and be able to eat him." She said.

We're a little on the fence with this one.. but there's some crazy things happening in the world so it wouldn't surprise us if this took off either.
