We couldn’t be prouder of or Firies and this week we’re taking the opportunity to recognise their incredible efforts over this past month.

This morning we met Regional Fires Service Commander Allan Gillespie who helped battle the recent blaze in Redbank that forced evacuations in the south-west of Brisbane.

“The acts of heroism, the acts of sheer gut determination in some of our people are indescribable” he told The Big Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody.

Gillespie was full of praise for the hard-working volunteers who have given up their annual leave to help protect people’s homes and livelihoods, unfortunately, there’s a larger problem at foot.

Allan’s story of is one of many that are starting to emerge from towns all over the country and that’s why we want to do something special to say, ‘thank you’.

We’re raising a glass to the Firies to say thank you for their incredible efforts over the last month at The Kedron Park Hotel next Wednesday 4th December and we hope you can join us!

It's a free event with proceeds going to givit.org.au

GIVIT supports the people impacted by fires with 100% of donations going towards purchasing essential items for these affected families.
