Listen up carnivores, the CSIRO has some news that will probs have ya chokin' on your chops.

A new study from the government agency has found that one to three serves of red meat, or about 350 grams is now the recommended dosage per week.

“For a healthy heart, the experts are now saying we should get our protein from plant sources likes beans, lentils and tofu”. Robin told The Big Breakfast this morning.

Now look, we understand that there’s a fair argument for toning down our t-bones whether it be for the sustainability of the planet or just looking after our insides, we get it!

However, there are A LOT of these studies every year so we might just play this one by ear if we promise to leave that extra steak off our plate at the next backyard barbie. Will you meat us halfway, CSIRO?

Hear how Marto reacted to the news below [SPOILER ALERT] poorly

The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody returns weekdays from 5:30AM on 104.5 Brisbane's Triple M
