Damian Barrett has clarified the size of the offers Brodie Grundy's facing outside of Collingwood - and the numbers are significant.

Grundy is a reigning All-Australian and perhaps the most versatile ruckman in the game, ranking second in the league for hitouts to advantage while also ranking top 10 for contested possessions and clearances.

The 24-year-old is a native South Australian, with Nathan Brown speculating on the Mid-Week Rub he could face offers of a million dollars a season to head back.

Damo then clarified how much Grundy was actually being offered.

"The offers are more than that, times seven (years)," he replied.

Grundy is out of contract at the end of next season, where he will become a free agent.

Barrett said Collingwood's cap would make it difficult to match an offer of that size, meaning Grundy may have to take less to stay.

"No, they won't be able to," he said.

"They are loaded at the moment on that cap, too, Collingwood."
