LISTEN | “Did you choke, Moose?!” Jeff Thomson, a Ferrari and bloke named Moose: The Greatest Cricket Story You’ve Never Heard

Jeff Thomson will undoubtedly go down in Australian sporting history as one of our greatest ever fast bowlers. In an era before the use of reliable speed guns, many have believe that he is still the fastest bowler to have ever walked the earth, hence why the stories of those who have faced Thommo and lived to tell the tale are legendary. 

However, after a call from one of our listeners this morning The Big Breakfast had to launch a full-scale investigation. 

According to listener, Rob , the great Jeff Thomson used to go around to schools in Queensland in the late seventies in his Ferrari conducting coaching clinics where he’d bowl to local kids. What happened at a particular high school in Nambour in 1977 could go down in cricketing folklore. 

"The word went around that as cricketers we could go down and face a couple of balls from Jeff Thomson" listener Rob told Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody. 

According to Rob, one kid in particular called 'Moose' decided to take up the challenge - "Moose called out again 'I thought you were supposed to be the fastest bowler in the world mate!"

The events that followed could be the greatest, alleged, cricketing story we've heard!
