Triple M's Eddie McGuire has responded to comments made by Collingwood cheer squad leader Joffa Corfe about fan behaviour.

Joffa announced he would boycott games after a crackdown on fan behaviour, telling Triple M Adelaide we "should not be subjected to this".

"We're just talking about being a passionate supporter, heart on sleeve, every now and then have a boo, have a go at the umpire, get into the game. That's what it's all about," he told Jars & Louie.

The Collingwood president reacted to those comments on Friday morning.

"I love the fact that you can stand up and yell and scream," he told Triple M's Hot Breakfast.

"Don't be swearing out loud. Don't be yelling personal abuse at people. Cheer for your side."
