LISTEN: Housing Boost - Including Rental Caps - For Service Workers

This week, Pablo spoke with Mayor Peter Long, who ran us through the City's efforts to help find housing for Karratha's service workers.

As you'll hear, the City has worked with Rio Tinto to acquire a stack of old units, that will be added to the existing accomodation pool.

They'll need some money spent on them to bring them to speed, but the boost in accomodation options will be felt.

Moreover, the Mayor has confirmed that rental for the unit will be capped, proportional to your salary, in a bid to make it fair to all.

Those units are expected to be available in batches, some by the middle of this year and the balance by early 2023.
