It was another morning of Extinction Rebellion planned protests in the Brisbane CBD as activists continued to shut down streets demanding government action on climate change.

The Big Breakfast spoke with one protester known as ‘Carl’ who ensured Marto, Robin and Nick Cody that the protests were not violent however there were a lot of people who were prepared to “disrupt business as usual”.

The protester told The Big Brekky crew that the protesters were not worried about an increased police presence “If they want to take us back to the days of Jo-Bjelke-Petersen then that’s on them, we’re all here peacefully protesting, we’re not violent”.

The protests began in front of the Queensland Parliament around 7AM and moved west along George Street before being cordoned off by Police at Margaret street where a small number of arrests were made.
