With temperatures set so stay in the mid to high thirties for the entire week the head of the RFS has a dire warning for Brisbane and doesn’t look respite is on the way

This morning The Big Breakfast spoke with General Manager of the Rural Fire Brigade Justin Choveaux who oversees the entire operation that has in excess of 33,000 volunteers.

These armies of volunteers have been at the forefront of numerous blazes around the state including recent ones Bulwer and Redbank. However, it would surprise how often they are called into action.

“If you’re a brigade volunteer, you’re always on call” Choveaux told Marto, Margaux and Nick Cody this morning.

However, with hot, windy condition forecast until the end of the week, Choveaux believes there is only one thing that can combat these blazes.
