Geelong midfielder/forward Luke Dahlhaus has opened up about his departure from the Bulldogs, saying he was "pretty cooked" mentally.

"IT WAS A TOUGH COUPLE OF MONTHS":

Dahlhaus departed the Western Bulldogs - where he played in a premiership in 2016 - at the end of 2018 for Geelong.

He joined Triple M's Dead Set Legends on Saturday morning and had an honest chat about how difficult the end of last season was.

“It was most definitely the hardest decision of my life to leave the Doggies. I love that club so much," he told Triple M.

“It's really hard to put your finger on it, but honestly, just mentally I was pretty cooked, I think. I didn’t have much left in the tank. It was just as simple as making a change, and I was pretty lucky to come back home.

“It was a pretty tough couple of months.”
