Nathan Brown has declared that Gary Ablett Jnr is capable of surpassing the 50-goal mark as a forward this season.

A former goal-sneak himself, Browny also hit back at critics questioning Ablett’s forward pressure on The Friday Huddle.

“If Gary Ablett’s mind is on the job (forward pressure) he can do this job,” the former Western Bulldogs and Richmond star said.

“But he is down there to kick goals.”

“You look at Luke Bruest (and) you look at Eddie Betts who kick 50 plus goals every year.”

“Gary Ablett’s good enough to kick 50 to 60 (goals) this year.”

“Small defenders don’t want to come up against Gary Ablett.”
