Triple M's Hot Breakfast reporter Tom Browne says it "looks like" one Victorian batsman will miss out on selection for the first Test against India.

Two Victorians - Marcus Harris and Peter Handscomb - were included in a 14-man squad for Tests in Adelaide and Perth.

Seven batsmen were named, with one likely to miss the cut.

Browne told Triple M's Hot Breakfast on Tuesday morning that it looks like the decision on the batting order was between them.

TOM BROWNE ON THE TEST TEAM:

Australia's 14-man Test squad: Aaron Finch, Marcus Harris, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Paine (capt), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Chris Tremain, Peter Siddle
