Puka Up founder and former North Melbourne and Sydney footballer Wayne Schwass joined the Hot Breakfast this morning to talk about the bike ride which his enterprise is taking part in to help raise money for mental health and suicide prevention.

Schwass pulled on the lycra along with fellow former AFL players Ryan O’Keefe and Scott Cummings to tackle nearly 2,000 kilometres on a bike — with the biggest challenge to ride up up Mount Hotham.

Although the former North best and fairest recipients body hasn’t allowed him to physically complete the entirety of the ride, Cummins and around 30 others have been able to do so.

The ride commenced from Marvel Stadium last Wednesday and will finish on Friday as they arrive back in Port Melbourne after travelling through the north east of Victoria.

"I've been lucky enough to do a number of things which have been pretty amazing," Schwass said.

"But I've got to say watching a group of people commit themselves to not only ride a long way and ride up high distances with elevation."

"Their commitment to this cause has been inspiring."
