LISTEN | “We had crews come from all over Australia …everyone opened up their doors” The incredible story of a fire-affected community coming together

We couldn’t be prouder of or Firies and this week we’re taking the opportunity to recognise their incredible efforts over this past month.

This morning we met Katrina from near Yeppoon in Central Queensland who wanted to take the opportunity to thank the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect her town as the blazes approached her town.

“It was creeping towards town…lots of people lost homes but the community were wonderful” she told The Big Breakfast this morning.

Katrina’s story of is one of many that are starting to emerge from towns all over the country and that’s why we want to do something special to say ‘thank you’.

We’re raising a glass to the Firies to say thank you for their incredible efforts over the last month at The Kedron Park Hotel next Wednesday 4th December and we hope you can join us!

It's a free event with proceeds going to givit.org.au
