Lleyton Hewitt has sensationally responded to Bernard Tomic’s press conference whack, saying that Tomic has threatened him with blackmail and violence.

LISTEN HERE:

“He won’t play Davis Cup while I have anything to do with it,” Hewitt said in a press conference.

“The threats that I received to me and my family that I’ve had for a year and a half now… I don’t think anyone would reach out to someone like that.

“(The threats were) blackmail and physical.”

Hewitt also refuted Tomic’s claims that he was picking players for the Davis Cup based on favouritism rather than performance.

“It [the allegations] makes me disappointed, that’s the biggest thing.

“Because deep down Bernie knows what I’ve done for him and how much time I’ve spent” Hewitt said.

“For the first two years I was in this role, Bernie and Nick were my two priorities. And for Bernie to come out and have a go, but more to get all his facts wrong, that’s disappointing.”

Hewitt also categorically refuted Tomic’s allegations that he has a management interest in some of Australia’s best players and profits from their Grand Slam appearances.

“I don’t have a management company. No (I’m not getting a percentage of their income),” he said.
