Locals Open their Homes to Carnival Visitors

Hundreds of Toowoomba residents are expected to ease some of the accommodation strain during the Carnival of Flowers Festival being held this weekend.

There are reports that a number of residents have made the decision to enlist their homes/rooms on sites like the very popular Air B-N-B.

It is believed many locals made the decision after some concerns arose regarding accommodation for the festival this year with both the Quest Apartments on Margaret Street and the Burke and Will Hotel both out of action for 2017.

The event is expected to bring in more than $24 million the local economy.
