Watch out, Melbourne - the temperature is gonna plummet soon.

Channel 7 weather presenter and meteorologist Jane Bunn has given some insight into the upcoming weather across Victoria, and winter is sneaking up on us.

Southwest Victoria has copped a cold front this afternoon, seeing temperatures in Warrnambool drop from 23.5 at 3pm to 11.8 by 5pm.

The same phenomenon will sweep across Melbourne tonight, with temperatures potentially dropping into single figures.

The weather looks set to stay for the rest of the week as well, with forecasts suggesting we will see highs of 17 and 18 until next Monday.
