Lockyer Valley locals are being encouraged to get out and “turn a sod” this Sunday as part of the communities “Tree Planting Day”.

The community comradery is all part of Council’s movement to plant 17,000 plants along the banks of the Lockyer Creek in Gatton.

Council saying, “it will help prevent sediment loss, minimise flood risk and help keep South East Queensland's Salad Bowl” fertile.

The event will be held this Sunday March 24, from 10am-12pm.
