59 Allegedly Tested Positive For MDMA

Police have launched a new wave of charges against those caught driving home from Lost Paradise festival under the influence of drugs.

59 people will be charged with driving with MDMA in their system after leaving the New Years Eve event.

14 of those allegedly recorded positive tests for Cannabis & five had three or more drugs in their system.

Police are now in the process of issuing court notices following confirmation of tests.

Drug driving carries a maximum penalty of of six months in jail or a $1100 fine for first time offenders.

As well as the roadside tests, police conducted a drug dog operations at the festival which ran across the event and resulted in 50 people being charged with drug possession and three with drug supply
