A Triple Lunar Treat For Gold Coast Star Gazers Tonight
Super Moon, Blue Moon & Lunar Eclipse
There'll be a rare triple treat for star gazers tonight - and the Gold Coast will be one of the best places to see it.
For the first time in more than 30 years, we'll see a blue moon (second full moon in a calendar month), a super moon (appears around 15 percent brighter) and a total lunar eclipse (Earth's shadow passes over the Moon).
The "Triple Treat" moon will be rising around 7.30pm, with the blood-red eclipse happening around three hours later.
