Arson suspected

A house fire in Lutana in the early hours of Australia Day is being treated as ArsonĀ 

At 5 am this morning 3 fire trucks from Hobart and Glenorchy were called to a house fire in Lime Rd, Lutana.

On arrival the single story conjoined house was well alight, but fire crews wearing breathing apparatus quickly gained access inside the property.

The severity of the fire caused a partial roof collapse which hampered firefighting operations and it took around twenty minutes to gain control.

Tasmania Fire Service says at the time of the fire, which caused extensive fire damage to the majority of the property, the house was unoccupied.

Investigations will continue today between the Fire and Police services but authorities are treating this incident as Arson with damaged estimated at

$200,000.
