Mackay Police Dog Takes Down Man Refusing To Cooperate

Meet Hornet. He's one of our local Police Dogs here in Mackay. We were given exclusive access to their training today in North Mackay. "Hornet" (handled by Acting Sergeant Matt Bastin) was practicing an "agitator" scenario where the hooded man refused to cooperate. Acting Sergeant Matt Bastin yelled at the acting perpetrator, who ignored the advice given. Watch as Sergeant Matt Bastin gives "Hornet" the command to bring the perpetrator to the ground. Very impressive stuff! It's great to see this kind of work in our region, and great to know officers and trained dogs like "Hornet" are here to keep us safe!
