Magpie Will Hoskin-Elliot looks to be touch and go for Round 1, as he's set to undergo minor leg surgery on Monday.

Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh told afl.com.au he's unsure when the forward will be ready to play.

"He'll be off legs for about seven to 10 days then we'll just see how he goes from there," Walsh told AFL.com.au of Hoskin-Elliott.

"I wouldn't be putting any timeframe on it, because it's something we'll treat systematically as he returns to being able to run and that sort of stuff.

"It's pretty common."

The news comes days after Jordan De Goey sent scares through the Collingwood camp when he sprained his foot during a marking contest at training.

Geelong star and AFLX Bolts skipper Patrick Dangerfield says one of his teammates was "sour" he didn't get an AFLX gig this year!
