Eels hooker Reed Mahoney is set to be handed his Origin debut by Paul Green this morning when the Maroons coach names his side to face the Blues in Game I. Despite putting together an excellent season with the Storm Harry Grant is expected to come off the bench alongside Tigers bolter Joe Ofahengaue.

Last year’s hero Cameron Munster will also be named in the team despite his ongoing battle with a Lisfranc fracture.

However, the biggest story of the morning is that a call is set to made today that will see Origin shifted away from the MCG due to Melbourne’s recent spike in COVID cases and according to NRL Insider Dobbo there has been spate of bookings of bookings in northern Queensland rugby league heartland.

“My accommodation is booked for Townsville” Dobbo told Marto and Margaux.

“The QRL has booked The Ville (Resort-Casino) out”

A late bid by the NSW government has been launched to see the game played at BankWest Stadium which would be lauded as ‘fair’ by Blues supporters as it would avoid both Game I and II being played in Queensland.
