Major Delays In Southport After Tram Crashes Into Car

A tram has smashed into a car at Southport just after 9:00 this morning.

It's believed the car was turning right across the tracks when it was struck at the corner of Scarborough and Lawson Streets.

One person was hurt in the crash, taken to hospital with shoulder and arm injuries.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area, while trams were suspended between Southport and Surfers Paradise North stations.
