A man has been arrested overnight, accused of ramming a number of police vehicles with a stolen car at Coomera.

Officers first spotted the stolen Commodore near Caz Ct around 7:30 on Monday night, but it allegedly sped away from them, smashing into a Toyota Corolla with two people inside near Turnbull Dr while trying to avoid a dog squad vehicle a short time later.

The driver is then accused of ramming three police vehicles when they surrounded the stolen car on Abraham Rd, causing major damage to one.

Thankfully no one was injured.

The car eventually pulled over at Ormeau where the driver tried to flee on foot.

A 28-year-old man was arrested nearby.

He was later charged with string of offences including wilful damage of police property, evasion, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and driving unlicensed.

The man was due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
