A man has been arrested, accused of lighting two petrol bowsers at a service station in Chippendale.
Security footage shows the man crawling on his hands and knees into the Budget Servo on Regent Street on Tuesday morning around 2:20am, dribbling petrol out of a number of hoses and lighting them, before the flames self-extinguished.
Sayed Abbas, an employee from the service station, says the incident left him "rattled".
"I was trying to ring my boss but my fingers were shaking so much I couldn't even dial his number," he told Nine News.
He's now under police guard in hospital receiving a mental health check-up.
