Police arrested a man in Prahran early Wednesday morning after a member of the public called Police with a noise complaint.

The complaint was made over an angle grinder being used at around 3am on High Street.

As officers and the dog squad arrived on the scene, they located a tip-truck which was stolen from an Armadale address the night before.

Officers spotted a man leaving the site, and found him to be in possession of an angle grinder and copper pipe.

The 30 year-old Hillside man was arrested and will face questioning as to whether he was attempting to steal copper piping from the site 

The man remains in custody.
