Man Drives Himself To Get Help after Being Bitten by a Brown Snake

A man aged in his 30s has driven himself to get help after being bitten by a suspected brown snake.

The victim had pulled over to the side of the New England Highway on Saturday afternoon to check his car when he was bitten on the leg.

The incident happened around 4:20pm with the man calmly returning to his vehicle and driving himself to a nearby house for help where the occupants raised the alarm.

Paramedics stabilised that man at the scene, he was then airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital.
